When One Door Closes...

                                                                                                         via

A week ago today, I became a statistic. Yes, I received the white envelope and I was told that my job after 4 1/2 years was over. Just like that, I was laid off. The moment was very bittersweet. I worked in a position for 3 plus years and disliked every.moment.of.it. However, I'd rather be employed looking for employment, than unemployed looking for employment.

I am sooo unsure of my next move. I worked a job for sooo long  knowing that it would not evolve into a career with a 401K or tuition reimbursement. I am now praying for direction because I honestly have no clue. My lease is up in about 3 months so I am totally open to the idea of relocating. I am also flirting with the idea of finishing my Master's but then again a part of me isn't really into that either. I wish there was just an easy button I could press that would just make everything better in that area *heavy sigh*. Please look forward to more post on operation find me a job career. And if you're reading this and you happen to be a career coach please inbox me.

Luckily, I have my side hustle and was able to pick up more hours there. Hopefully this break will also allow me to blog a bit more (I'd be happy if that became my job #writethevision).

Praying that you figure things out my dear. Stay positive and faithful and know that God is working. I truly believe that when we are at our lowest points in life, God is setting us up for something greater. I've seen too many examples of this not to believe that. This too shall pass...xo!

Things always happen for a reason. I know exactly what is like to be unemployed....have been for about 2 1/2 years now. But you just keep on keeping on. Don't let it get you down. Look at it as this means you can do whatever it is you really want to do. Take those skills from there and transfer them into something more awesome. God is amazing to us. In due time things like this will make since. You are going to be fine.

You are missed. Confident that you will find a new road to the realization of your true self - you are much too talented and capable for this to be anything but a stepping stone. Be well.

Your post hit home wit me. I lost my job after 6 years. I never saw it as a career but being unemployed sucks. I've been bouncing around looking for direction ever since. I have an idea of wat I want to do but I kno wat I dont want to do. Work a typical 9-5. Went to broadcasting school and now that it is over I'm definitely not opposed to relocating. Keep us posted about ur journey.

@Whitney- Thank you sooo much for the encouraging words. I have seen God work in my life before sooo this just may be a setup and not a setback.

@Pynkstarr- Girl I haven't from you in a while and haven't seen any new post ( I be lurking). Thanks you sooo for your kind words. I am definitely trying to take this time and really figure out what it is that I want to do, or more importantly, what HE wants me to do. I pray that a door is open for you soon!!!

@Pich- Thank you for the encouragement as well and the compliment. Yes God's plan is what's most important!!!

@Kesha- I thought you read my blog like one time and I was super hesitant to share lol. Thank you sooo much for commenting. What I miss most, is everyone that I worked with. There were a few good people. Yes this will be my stepping stone!!!

@Sha- Yes being unemployed SUCKS MAJOR!!! We are definitely in the same boat. There are things I like to do, but I need to figure out a way that they'll get me some income, lol!!! I will definitely keep you all posted. I pray that you find direction as well. I see you are an avid thriftier we may have to link up and do a lil thrifting theme on our blogs.

I am living proof that this is so true. I realized that a few people and certain things were blocking my blessings and once I decided to let all of that go like God wanted me to, I have been beyond blessed! And I am willing to do anything and everything to stay on this path to receive every blessing that God has in store for me.
